Family Fun Day ensures smiles all-round
The team was proud to host a Family Fun Day on Saturday 23rd September, which included activities for people of all ages, including games, music, and food and drink.
The event was also an opportunity for us to raise money for 3 Pillars Trust, a charity that feeds and provides clothes and bedding to over 60 people each night.
Staff voted amongst themselves whether they would prefer to host a summer event this year rather than a Christmas one, and the majority asked for a summer gathering – the main reason for this was that lots of people make alternative plans in December. The company had just completed the purchase of a new building, Unit 13, which was a huge empty space next to the current location – this also meant that we had complete use of the car park that joins the two units. This made for a perfect party space, so during a companywide meeting, the option of a party was raised by management and the green light was given. Fast forward six months and here we are!
The event was put together by the incredibly organised social team, comprising of Nikki Crook, Debbie Jamieson, Charlotte Saunders, Kym Housden, Lesley Dowty, Kirsty White and Debbie Hill, who planned all the food, drinks, music, entertainment, furniture, and décor to turn the empty space into a party venue.
It was a sunny day filled with fun and games including bouncy castles, hook-a-duck, ring toss, giant Connect Four, and much more. Everyone was encouraged to bring along their nearest and dearest to join in the celebrations, and we ended up with nearly 140 people all having fun in the sun!
As part of the day, the amazing team at Lakeside Kitchen provided catering with a delicious BBQ offering, and we also indulged in popcorn, candy floss, donuts, and sweets from a traditional sweet cart! Production Manager Leon Rawson was our resident DJ and impressed the team as he spun the decks all day long!
Money raised for a worthy cause
We also held a huge raffle and raised a whopping £373! This money will go to 3 Pillars Trust in St Neots, a charity near and dear to our hearts.
The charity was of great personal relevance to us, as they helped and supported one of the Photofab family in a very desperate time of need last year when they found themselves homeless. The charity supported them in their darkest days, and they continue to do this for so many others that are in need. There are plenty of families struggling with the cost of living who are asking them for support until their next pay day to feed or clothe their children. Any help we can provide is the least we can do.
The team made some unforgettable memories, and it really was a special day!
