Supporting our employees during mental health awareness week
It’s mental health awareness week this week and we at Photofab thought we should use this time to highlight the ways in which we support our workers with mental health. We understand that mental health is a critical aspect of healthcare and support our workers as much as we can, treating it in the same way we would for physical health. Jane, our HR manager here at Photofab, had the following to say:
“I have a great pride in the value that Photofab places on Mental Health and Wellbeing, not only does the business support individuals, the team supports each other through those tough times that we all hit”.
Opening doors to tackle mental health
We appreciate that one of the main barriers to effective mental health treatment can be workplace stigma. We are proud to have an open-door policy, meaning employees can be assured they are welcome to speak to any of our directors and HR about mental health problems, and we will offer support and guidance to ensure they are supported as needed. Sales Admin Assistant Charlotte said of the policy:
“Photofab have been amazing when it comes to mental health. They have been very understanding and catering to all needs when I really need the support. I couldn’t thank my manger and HR enough”.
Further Support
Photofab provides all of our employees private medical insurance which enables them to access mental health services as part of the plan if they need, usually within days. This also enables access to a range of professional treatments and wellbeing programs. Our HR team have access to a wide range of support networks which it can guide staff towards, including talking therapy.
At Photofab, we like to consider ourselves one big family and are always very open with each other about the mental health issues we face. This openness helps our employees share their problems and ensures they feel supported by everybody at Photofab. We hope that mental health awareness week continues to raise awareness about mental health problems and how we can provide better support going forward.
